No School on May 31 & Jun 1

There will be no school on Monday, May 31 in observance of Memorial Day. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 is a no-school day for students which was originally a snow make-up day. For a quick view of all school dates, you can view the 2020-2021 LWSD Calendar.

RMS Student Talent Show

The end of the year is coming up and the RMS Leadership II Team wants to end this amazing school year with an outstanding talent show! The submission link and other requirements are outlined in the May 14 Grizzly GramSubmission Deadline: Wednesday, June 2 at 11:59 PM

Redmond High School Girls Sports

RHS Girls Soccer Meeting
Incoming 9th Graders are invited to attend the RHS Girls Soccer Parent/Player Meeting which will take place on Thursday, May 27 at 7:30 PM online. For more information for those interested, please email smasters@lwsd.org and a link will be sent to join the online meeting.

RHS Girls Volleyball Offseason Workouts
Incoming 9th graders are invited to attend RHS Girls Volleyball Open Gym Drop-In from June 2-June 14 on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:45-7:15 PM. RSVP is requested for each session for planning. Contact Coach Jim Hardy at 
jahardy@lwsd.org to RSVP or for more info. Starting June 14, the workouts will require a registration, a physical and a fee.

RMS Library Book Return (Repeat)

All RMS library books will be due Friday, June 4, 2021. The last day for any check out will be Friday, May 21, 2021. Any books not returned by June 4 will be automatically marked lost. Early book return is welcome.

Let's Review the Year!

Can you spare a few hours to ensure that our PTSA is financially sound by volunteering for the financial review committee? This review is required by WSPTA and AIM insurance and will take place in July, on a date and time the committee members arrange for themselves. Months under review will be January to June, 2021. RMS Staff Delighted with Appreciation Luncheon!

Thanks to all of our great parents and community members that donated, the RMS Staff was treated to a lovely lunch catered by Panera Bread Co. It was great to be able to show our appreciation of the hard work the wonderful staff has put in, especially with all of the extra challenges this year. Do you have questions about the end-of-school events or next school year? Join the last "Donuts with Dana" of 2020-2021 this Tuesday at 9:00 AM for the May Meeting! 

RMS PTSA presents "Donuts with Dana" meeting, a monthly, 30-minute virtual meeting with Principal Dana Greenberg. Parents can chat with the principal, and other parents, about various school topics from the leisure of your own home. Bring your own donuts! **Future Grizzly families are invited to join the meeting!**

Spelling Bee Update: Outstanding Speller!

A seventh-grader from RMS recently competed along with students from more than 100 schools in the Scripps National Spelling Bee regionals competition. Sirjana K. brought fame to Redmond Middle School by placing second! Way to go, Sirjana.

COVID-19 Update: Reopening and Masks

State Reopening
On May 13, Gov. Jay Inslee announced a reopening date of June 30 and that all counties in Washington will move to Phase 3 of the Healthy WA: Roadmap to Recovery reopening plan effective May 18 until June 30. Read the entire article on the Governor's Medium site.

Advocacy Submission Process Open (Repeat)

Washington State PTA just uploaded a new video to the Advocacy Submission Process playlist. Check out local PTA president Mike Uehara-Bingen telling his story to encourage local leaders to step up to advocacy by submitting an issue, resolution or principle for the WSPTA legislative platform.

All you need is to care deeply about your issue, and be committed to being part of the solution. Any PTA member is encouraged to take action and submit an issue, resolution, or legislative principle that addresses concerns that affect children on a state-wide level. As a grassroots association, WSPTA relies on our members to provide the priorities that we will advocate for at the state level and within our communities. Learn more about our legislative priorities and the history of our advocacy efforts. The submission process is now open. The deadline for final submissions is June 1, 2021.
